Robert Paterson – String Quartets 1-3

The Indianapolis Quartet commissioned Robert Paterson's third string quartet in 2020. New York Classical Review called the premiere performance at Carnegie Hall a "tour de force of tight ensemble and interplay." The relationship between the ensemble and composer grew from there, leading to this premiere recording of each of Paterson's quartets. The connection shines throughout the recording, with Paterson's trademark technique and humor coming through loud and clear.
