On July 9, Duo della Luna (Susan Botti, soprano/composer; Airi Yoshioka, violin) releases Mangetsu, on New Focus Recordings. The album centers around Botti’s muli-movement title piece that catalyzed the duo’s formation. After performing together in various chamber settings, Yoshioka commissioned Botti to write for voice and violin. The collaboration revealed an artisitic spark and a shared passion for folk traditions, story-telling, and nature.
