Described as “a unique collective sound which is as warm and full of sparkle as liquid gold” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), Arneis Quartet has been a Boston institution since 2009. The 2023-24 season marks the launch of the group’s new Kaisahan Initiative. Kaisahan, a Filipino word meaning (roughly) ‘to be one,’ is the inspiration for a two-year programming initiative. Building on the quartet’s affinity for collaboration, the Kaisahan Initiative will broadly apply the quartet’s eclectic approach to programming across a diverse range of cultural traditions. By actively exploring new ways to engage, the quartet hopes to achieve a model of sustainable artistic intersectionality.
