New recordings of music by Susie Ibarra and Gabriela Lena Frank kick off a busy fall of exploration that includes two performances of Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ’s ‘The Odyssey.’
Described as “a unique collective sound which is as warm and full of sparkle as liquid gold” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), Arneis Quartet has been a Boston institution since 2009. The season sees the continuation of the group’s Kaisahan Initiative. Kaisahan, a Filipino word meaning (roughly) ‘to be one,’ builds on the quartet’s affinity for collaboration, and will broadly apply the quartet’s eclectic approach to programming across a diverse range of cultural traditions.
