Sound from the Bench
"Sound from the Bench" is anchored by Ted Hearne’s disruptive and unapologetically political cantata — a probing exploration of the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision scored for choir, electric guitars, and drums. Performed by Philadelphia’s contemporary music chamber choir The Crossing, the four featured works on this album are, in the words of the group’s Artistic Director, Donald Nally , “fundamentally about asking questions — questions about the world we live in, about art, and about language and music.”
